Reconditioned laptops can come from a variety of places. We've mentioned factory reconditioned models, but here are a few of the other common sources.
Independent or Small Businesses
Independent factory-authorized companies buy bulk quantities of laptops in order to recondition and resell. Since they buy in bulk or are given the defective laptops in the first place, they then pass the low prices on to their customers.
Demo or Store Display Models
Where do computers go after being on display at the electronics store? Often times they are revamped and sold at a discount. The laptops may have minor surface scratches, but they work good as new.
